Bear's Cottage is an enchanting two bedroomed 17th Century Cotswold Cottage, originally built in 1605 and once formed part of the rectory on the Bretforton Manor Estate. Situated within the Conservation Area of Bretforton and adjacent to Bretforton Manor the cottage paints a tranquil picture overlooking the beautiful 13th Century Church of St. Leonards.
Newly renovated and finished to a high standard throughout, the cottage provides charming accommodation comprising of: two double bedrooms each with a comfortable double bedstead and Millbrook mattress, a superb shower room with large shower, under floor heating and heated towel rail, a well-equipped kitchen (including single electric oven and hob, electric cooker hood, a microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer). The dining area leads through to a cosy sitting area with freeview TV, dvd player and fibre 1 broadband. The cottage also has the benefit of gas central heating and a gas stove for those chilly evenings. Nestling in a pretty garden with a lawn and flowerbeds to the front and a patio complete with garden furniture, Bear's Cottage has everything you need to enjoy the outdoor living on those long Summer evenings.
Please note: whilst the staircase to the bedrooms is reasonably wide with a handrail it has a sharp winding turn at the bottom. Regrettably this property is unsuitable for wheelchair users, anyone with mobility issues or small children.
In light of Coronavirus, and in line with Government recommendations, for your protection and safety we do not permit outdoor shoes/boots to be worn indoors. Please bring indoor slippers with you to wear in the cottage.
For your peace of mind and to make sure you have a memorable stay at Bear's Cottage, we have always operated a very thorough cleaning regime at every changeover. You can view our Cleaning Policy here.

Phil guess what ...... I've seen a fabulous cottage on Rightmove, shall we go and have a look?
These were the fateful words I used as we crossed the point of no return in late 2015, embarking upon what was to become a two year renovation of Bear's Cottage, a grade II listed property originally built in the year of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605!
My partner Phil is a professional wall and floor tiler and was taught carpentry skills as a child by his father, turning his hand to almost anything. Originally from a banking background, for the last 30 years I have worked in the Hospitality Industry whilst developing needlework skills and decorating skills in my spare time.
For two years we worked tirelessly renovating the cottage and by pooling our resources we have transformed a stone cottage trapped in a 1980's time warp into a desirable holiday cottage. We retained as many of the original features as possible and left no surface untouched which managed to escape the wallpaper stripper, the scraper and the paint brush!
Some people thought we were insane to take on the renovation and others like ourselves saw the potential from the start. As we stepped into the decaying, half glazed wooden porch and walked through the old faded front door, we fell in love with the cottage's charm and timelessness. From that moment on we knew we could transform Bear's Cottage into a desirable holiday cottage providing a tranquil and relaxing haven for our guests to enjoy.
We have realised our dream and have been welcoming guests for over 3 years and from the lovely comments we have received we know they have enjoyed the ambience and tranquillity of our lovely cottage.
Once again it's wonderful to be able to welcome our guests to Bear's Cottage, particularly after the year we have all endured, and it is more important than ever that our guests enjoy their stay and hopefully return in the future.
Have a lovely holiday!
Phil & Susan
